ถ้า x = น้ำหนักหิน (ตัน)      y = เวลา (ชม.) กำหนดให้      โรงโม่หินที่ 1 เริ่มต้นผลิตหินโดยไม่มีกองสต็อก (x1 =0 ) ผลิตด้วยอัตรา 720 ตัน/ชม.  และโรงโม่ที่ 2 เริ่มต้นโดยมีกองสต็อกอยู่ 1400 ตัน (x2 = 1400) ผลิตด้วยอัตราเร็ว 600 ตัน/ชม. โรงโม่ทั้ง 2 จะมีกอองสต็อกที่เท่ากันที่ปริมาณเท่าไรและใช้เวลานานเท่าไรจึงจะเท่ากัน ตอบ x = 8400 (ตัน) y = 11.67 (ชม.)
